The CFC 2025 is happening here:
Kulturhaus Eidelstedt
Alte Elbgaustraße 12
22523 Hamburg

The Kulturhaus website has some key info for folks from Hamburg and the surrounding area:

https://kulturhaus-eidelstedt.de/kontakt/

The A7 highway has only one really difficult section right before Hamburg.

There's no parking at the Kulturhaus itself except 1 handicapped-accessible parking lot, but there are some spots nearby, like on Pinneberger Chaussee (use the Navi from Fahrschule iDrive Eidelstedt, about 50m from the Kulturhaus).

The covered P+R at Elbgaustrasse is a super cheap option at just 2€ per day and it's only 800m from the Kulturhaus. It might smell a bit, but it's considered very safe.

The parking garage at Eidelstedt Center is closed on Sundays! If you're planning to leave on Saturday or anytime after Monday, you can park there for 5€ per day. There are also disabled parking spots available.

If you need more tips or specific info, feel free to reach out to us at eventorga@haecksen.org!

The train routes to Hamburg can also be a bit delayed. Keep that in mind when choosing your connection.

There are 4 stations in Hamburg where long-distance trains stop: Harburg, Hauptbahnhof, Dammtor, Altona. Not every train stops at all these stations. For the CFC, the useful stations are Hauptbahnhof, Dammtor, and Altona. A ticket to “HAMBURG” (all caps) is valid at all these stations. Train-specific tickets are not valid on local trains (https://www.bahn.de/faq/was-bedeutet-zugbindung).

Deutschlandticket

The Germany Ticket is valid on public transport in Hamburg (HVV). You can also book a City Ticket with your Deutsche Bahn ticket or buy single, day, or group tickets from the HVV.

Public transport in Hamburg 🔔️

In Hamburg, you'll likely be taking a lot of buses. If you prefer the S-Bahn and don't mind a bit of a walk, the right S-Bahn station is Elbgaustraße. From there, it's about 850m to the Kulturhaus. Otherwise, the bus stop Eidelstedter Platz is the right destination.

⚠️ Please note: The transfer at station Elbgaustraße might be difficult due to some accessibility restrictions regarding the pathway to the buses.

⚠️ Attention: Construction site starting from 29.06.2025 at Elbgaustraße station! This may lead to restrictions in accessibility and delays. Some connections towards Eidelstedter Platz involve a transfer at this station! Please check your chosen connection to see if it includes a stop at Elbgaustraße. If you're concerned you might need assistance, please contact cfc-access@haecksen.org in advance.

Single, day, and group tickets are available in the online shop or via the HVV apps with a 7% discount. Alternatively, you can buy tickets from machines, but they aren't available at every bus stop. For buying tickets on the bus, you'll need the HVV Prepaid Card.

from Dammtor / Altona

From the stations Hamburg Dammtor and Hamburg Altona, you can reach the Kulturhaus with a single bus ride:

  • Hamburg Dammtor to Eidelstedter Platz: Bus line 4 (about 40 minutes)
  • Hamburg Altona to Eidelstedter Platz: Bus line 183 (about 30 minutes)
These stations are less crowded than the Hauptbahnhof, so getting on and off can be more relaxed. However, not every Deutsche Bahn train that's supposed to stop at Dammtor and Altona actually does, especially during delays. Orientation at Altona station can be a bit tricky, but Dammtor is simpler.

from Hauptbahnhof

You'll usually get to the Kulturhaus faster if you get off at Hauptbahnhof and then combine train and bus:

  • U-Bahn U2 towards Niendorf Nord to Hagenbecks Tierpark, then take Bus line 181, 281, or 392 (any of these) to Eidelstedter Platz. There's an elevator to the U2 outside the main hall at Hauptbahnhof, and another at Hagenbeck. For the return trip, you'll need to cross the street at the traffic light from the bus stop. (about 35 minutes)
  • S-Bahn S5 to Elbgaustraße, then take Bus line 184 or 284 (about 30 minutes)

If you need help with your route - whether it's choosing the right one or dealing with barriers - just let us know at eventorga@haecksen.org!

Always make sure your bike is securely locked when you park it in Hamburg.

There's also a Stadtrad station at the Eidelstedt Center where you can rent and return city bikes.
